Gaine thermorétractable DeLOCK 20669

The DeLOCK 20669 heat shrink tube is made of polyolefin and is designed to protect and insulate cables, wires and electrical tubing. When exposed to heat the sleeve contracts to a smaller diameter and encloses the cable, providing protection against weather exposure and mechanical damage.

Advantages

The tube has a 4:1 shrinkage ratio, shrinking to a quarter of its original diameter when heated, which allows a tight fit over connectors and irregular shapes. Constructed from durable polyolefin in black, the sleeve offers resistance to moisture, chemicals and abrasion for reliable insulation in workshop or industrial settings. A hot air gun is the recommended tool for controlled and even shrinking.

Suitable for

• Insulating and protecting electrical wires and cable joints
• Repairing damaged cable sheaths
• Securing connectors and cable ends
• Workshop, industrial maintenance and DIY electrical projects

How to use

Slide an appropriately sized section of the heat shrink tube over the cable or connection, centring it over the area to be insulated. Apply heat evenly using a hot air gun, moving the gun continuously to avoid overheating one spot. Watch the tube shrink until it forms a tight seal around the cable. Allow the tube to cool before handling.

Recommendations

Choose a tube diameter that, after 4:1 shrinkage, will fit snugly over the cable or component. Use a regulated hot air gun for even heating; avoid open flames. For applications requiring additional mechanical strength or environmental sealing, consider combining the heat shrink with adhesive-lined variants or supplementary sealing methods where appropriate.
