Prolongateur USB 1.1 sur RJ-45 VALUE 12.99.1121

The VALUE USB 1.1 Extender over RJ-45 (MPN 12.99.1121) extends the connection to a USB peripheral device up to 45 metres using a Cat.5e/6 patch cable. It is compliant with USB 1.1 and supports full-speed (12 Mbit/s) and low-speed (1.5 Mbit/s) USB devices. The kit includes a master unit with RJ-45 female and a USB Type A male on a 10 cm cable, and a remote unit with RJ-45 female and a USB Type A female on a 10 cm cable.

Advantages

The extender provides a straightforward wired solution to increase USB cable reach without requiring additional power adapters or signal converters. Compatibility with common USB 1.1 devices and simple RJ-45 cabling makes installation practical in offices, classrooms and surveillance setups. The separate master and remote units allow use with standard Cat.5e/6 patch cables already installed in buildings.

Suitable for

• Web cameras
• Surveillance cameras
• Scanners
• Printers
• Other low- and full-speed USB 1.1 peripherals

Key specifications

• Standard: USB 1.1 compliant
• Maximum extension: up to 45 m using Cat.5e/6 patch cable
• Data rates supported: full-speed 12 Mbit/s, low-speed 1.5 Mbit/s
• Compatibility: Windows 98SE/2000/XP/Vista (per manufacturer notes)
• Contents: master unit (RJ-45 female; USB Type A male, 10 cm cable), remote unit (RJ-45 female; USB Type A female, 10 cm cable)

How to use

Connect the USB Type A male from the master unit to the host computer, and plug the peripheral into the USB Type A female on the remote unit. Join the two units with a Cat.5e or Cat.6 patch cable using the RJ-45 female ports. Power the USB peripheral as required by the device; the extender passes USB 1.1 signals transparently and does not provide additional power beyond standard USB specifications.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use good-quality Cat.5e or Cat.6 patch cables and avoid linking multiple patch cables with couplers. Verify device compatibility with USB 1.1 (low- or full-speed). If a peripheral requires more than standard USB bus power, use a powered hub or a device-specific power supply near the remote unit.
