Rabot électrique portatif DeWALT DCP580NT-XJ

The Power Hand Planer DeWALT DCP580NT-XJ is a compact cordless planer designed for controlled material removal on wood and composite surfaces. With a no-load speed up to 15,000 RPM and a maximum planning width of 82 mm, this tool combines high cutting speed with a narrow body for access to tight areas. The unit weighs approximately 2.5 kg and uses lithium-ion battery technology to deliver sustained performance for extended on-site work. Noise emission is specified with a sound power level of 99 dB, providing a measurable reference for hearing protection planning.

Advantages

The planer’s high idle speed enables fast stock removal and smooth finishes when used with appropriate blades and settings. Its lightweight construction and compact footprint offer improved manoeuvrability and reduced fatigue during extended use. Cordless operation removes the constraints of power cables on building sites or remote locations. Visible colour coding and ergonomic dimensions support straightforward handling and integration into professional tool sets.

Suitable for

• Jointing and leveling timber boards and planks
• Chamfering edges and trimming door frames
• On-site carpentry and renovation tasks where portability is required
• Fine adjustment of fitted joinery and carpentry work

Key specifications

• Maximum planning width: 82 mm
• No-load speed: up to 15,000 RPM
• Weight: approximately 2.5 kg
• Power source: lithium-ion battery (cordless)
• Sound power level: 99 dB
• Body colours: black and yellow

How to use

Before starting, fit a compatible sharp blade and ensure the battery is fully charged. Adjust the cutting depth according to the amount of material to be removed, and check that the workpiece is firmly secured. Hold the planer with both hands, position the front shoe flat on the surface, and move the tool in a steady forward direction at a consistent speed. For best results, perform several light passes rather than a single deep cut and inspect the surface between passes. Observe the manufacturer’s blade and battery handling instructions when replacing consumables.

Recommendations

Use appropriate hearing protection because of the specified 99 dB sound power level. Maintain sharp blades for efficient cutting and reduced motor load. For precise finishing, make incremental depth adjustments and clamp workpieces securely. Store and charge lithium-ion batteries according to their safety instructions to prolong service life and ensure safe operation.
