Cordon Draka Comteq HP-FTP Cat6 vert 15 m

The Draka Comteq HP-FTP Cat6 patch cable in green, 15 meters long, is designed for reliable wired network connections where reduced electromagnetic interference and consistent data throughput are required. The cable uses F/UTP (commonly referred to as FTP) shielding which places an overall foil screen around the twisted pairs to limit external noise. Its Cat6 performance supports higher bandwidths and is suitable for standard Ethernet networking in residential and commercial installations.

Advantages

The cable combines Category 6 electrical characteristics with foil shielding to provide improved immunity to crosstalk and external interference compared with unshielded alternatives. At 15 m length it offers flexibility for routing between network devices without the need for intermediate couplers. The green jacket facilitates easy visual identification in cable bundles and structured cabling environments. The construction is intended to deliver stable performance for typical gigabit Ethernet and multimedia applications.

Suitable for

• Connecting switches, routers and patch panels in office or home networks
• Wiring workstations and networked devices in server rooms or comms cabinets
• Multimedia streaming and video conferencing where interference control is beneficial
• Structured cabling runs requiring colored identification for organization

Key specifications

• Category: Cat6 performance class
• Shielding: F/UTP (overall foil shield over twisted pairs)
• Length: 15 meters
• Color: Green outer jacket
• Conductor: Twisted pair copper conductors
• Intended use: Ethernet networking, data and multimedia transmission

How to use

Plug one RJ45 connector into the network port of your device and the other into the corresponding port on the switch, router, patch panel or modem. Ensure connectors are fully inserted and lock tabs are engaged to maintain a reliable physical connection. Route the cable to avoid tight bends, kinking, or compression from heavy objects, and keep it separated from high-voltage power lines where possible to minimize interference. For permanent installations, secure the cable with appropriate cable management accessories and avoid over-tensioning when dressing runs through cable trays or conduits.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use the cable within standard Cat6 channel length recommendations for your network topology and avoid combining multiple patched lengths beyond the supported channel specification. Verify device port speeds and negotiate settings on managed equipment if necessary to match gigabit or higher links. When installing in environments with significant electromagnetic sources, confirm shield termination practices at patch panels and equipment to maintain shielding effectiveness.
