Posemètre Sekonic L-478DR Noir

The Sekonic L-478DR Black is a compact, battery-powered light meter designed for photographers and videographers who need accurate incident and flash exposure readings. With a low-profile housing measuring 57 mm wide, 140 mm deep and 26 mm high, the meter is portable and fits easily into camera bags or studio kits. It supports measurement workflows for both ambient and flash lighting and provides the readings required for consistent exposure control.

Advantages

The device combines compact dimensions with versatile metering modes to deliver reliable exposure data in a compact form factor. Its AAA battery power source ensures easy replacement in the field, while the streamlined design reduces bulk without sacrificing functionality. The meter provides precise light measurement suitable for mixed lighting situations and studio setups.

Suitable for

• Photographers working with natural or artificial lighting
• Studio photographers and assistants adjusting flash power
• Videographers needing consistent exposure across scenes
• Location shoots where portability and quick readings are required

Key specifications

• Dimensions: 57 mm (width) × 140 mm (depth) × 26 mm (height)
• Power supply: AAA batteries (1.5 V)
• Measurement types: ambient and flash exposure readings
• Form factor: compact, lightweight handheld meter

How to use

Power the meter with AAA batteries and turn it on. For incident readings, position the meter’s sensor toward the light source or subject as required and select the ambient mode to record luminance values and recommended exposure settings. For flash metering, set the meter to flash mode and trigger the flash to capture the flash output; the meter will display the appropriate shutter speed, aperture, or ISO combination based on the measurement. Refer to the meter’s display and mode controls to switch between measurement types and to store or recall readings if the unit supports those functions.

Recommendations

Replace batteries before extended shoots to avoid interruptions and keep the meter’s sensor clean and free from obstructions for accurate readings. When working under mixed lighting, take multiple measurements at key positions to ensure consistent exposure across the scene. Use the compact form factor to carry the meter on location for quick adjustments when lighting conditions change.
