How to use

Connect the G-RAID SHUTTLE 4 to your computer via Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C. If using Thunderbolt 3, you may daisy-chain up to five additional devices from the second Thunderbolt port. The unit ships configured in RAID 5 for a balance of performance and data protection; change the RAID mode using the drive’s hardware RAID controller or management utility before initial use if a different configuration is required. Insert or remove Ultrastar drives only when the unit is powered down or following the manufacturer’s hot-swap instructions. Use the USB-C port to provide up to 85 W of power to compatible laptops while connected.

Recommendations

For reliable long-term operation in production environments, place the G-RAID SHUTTLE 4 on a stable surface, ensure proper ventilation, and perform periodic backups even when using RAID. Replace failed drives with identical enterprise-class Ultrastar units and rebuild the RAID array according to SanDisk’s service guidelines.
