Câble fibre optique Helos 7,5 m OM4 LC/SC

The Helos 7.5m OM4 LC/SC fibre optic cable is a multimode patch cable designed for short-range, high-bandwidth connections. With a 50 µm core diameter and OM4 grading, it supports full duplex communication and is intended for use in data centers, server rooms and enterprise networks. The cable length of 7.5 metres provides flexibility for rack-to-rack or equipment-to-equipment links while maintaining low attenuation and predictable optical performance.

Advantages

This OM4 multimode cable delivers higher modal bandwidth compared with lower-grade multimode types, enabling improved performance for 10 Gb/s and higher-speed applications over short distances. The combination of LC and SC connectors provides compatibility with a wide range of transceivers and patch panels. The full duplex configuration ensures simultaneous transmit and receive channels, reducing the need for separate single-strand links. The pre-terminated connectors simplify installation and reduce termination errors.

Suitable for

• Data centre rack-to-rack and switch-to-switch interconnects
• Server connections in enterprise and colocation environments
• High-speed multimode links for 10 Gb/s and 40 Gb/s short-reach deployments
• Patch panels and fibre distribution frames requiring LC to SC terminations

Key specifications

• Cable type: Multimode OM4 fibre
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector types: LC on one end, SC on the other
• Configuration: Full duplex duplex pair
• Length: 7.5 metres
• Typical use: Short-reach, high-bandwidth optical links

How to use

Inspect both the LC and SC connectors and the cable jacket for visible damage before installation. Align and insert the SC connector into the SC adapter or transceiver port until it clicks, then insert the LC connector into the corresponding LC adapter or transceiver port. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the minimum bend radius specified for multimode fibre to prevent signal loss. Secure the cable with appropriate ties or cable management accessories to avoid strain on the connectors. For duplex operation, ensure the transmit and receive channels are connected in the correct orientation between devices.

Recommendations

Use dust caps when connectors are not in use and follow standard fibre handling precautions. Clean connector endfaces with approved fibre cleaning tools before mating. For optimum performance in 10 Gb/s or higher links, verify link integrity with appropriate optical test equipment and maintain patch lengths and routing that minimize microbends and macrobends.
